Burma/Myanmar is undergoing a series of unprecedented changes and challenges.  As a group of Burma/Myanmar natives - who have been privileged to have obtained higher education overseas, we are dedicated to informing and empowering our communities back home and beyond on fundamental topics such as seeking higher education, understanding public policymaking and rights and responsibilities of individual citizens in a multi-ethnic society, etc.   Through our research and community empowerment initiatives, we work to provide critical analyses and training expertise on a range of pressing issues. At a time when there are increasing and urgent needs for our skills and service, we face resource constraints that often prohibits us from accomplishing our commitments and restrain us from responding to a rapidly changing sociopolitical environment in Burma/Myanmar.  Your support, financial or otherwise, will enable us to continue producing quality analysis and programs that yield results and shapes a better future for Burma/Myanmar.

Anyone affected by or interested in a decision should have the opportunity to participate in the process for making that decision. This can happen in several ways – community members may be provided with information, asked for their opinion, given the opportunity to make recommendations or, in some cases, be part of the actual decision-making process.  (For CSO role: Participation by both men and women is a key cornerstone of good governance. Participation could be either direct or through legitimate intermediate institutions or representatives. It is important to point out that representative democracy does not necessarily mean that the concerns of the most vulnerable in society would be taken into consideration in decision making. Participation needs to be informed and organized. This means freedom of association and expression on the one hand and an organized civil society on the other hand.)
